He was in shock and he could feel how the tears wanted to creep out through his eyes. She stood before him with her angry eyes, her face read from furious screams that had stolen all air out of her body for a bit. She was leaving. She couldn’t stay at a place like this anymore. She didn’t belong. He should have known that it would end like this, as it wasn’t first time she had tried to get away. And this time her brother was out of town, so the only person who ever would have been able to stop her, wasn’t anywhere near the house.
“I suppose I’ll have to let you go this time then” he said with a calm voice, that completely hid away the raging storm inside of him, and he tryingly reached out for her, to get a last feeling of the thin body of hers. She didn’t move, but didn’t say anything either, and he laid his arms around her to tug her closer into a hug. “At least you came to me instead of just leaving, I would have been dead worried otherwiseprobably” He would end up being awfully worried anyway, but it wouldn’t change her decision anyway, even if he told her that, he knew that now. “At least you won’t be out there alone” he said quietly before holding her out to get a look at her. She stared back at him, almost looking surprised, opening her mouth as if she was about to ask how he knew that she would bring her sister along. But of course he knew. The twins were unseperable, and even if she had tried to leave alone, her sister would soon be there to hunt her down. She looked down and frowned and he couldn’t help but smile over how much she looked like her mother when making such a face, even is she was that sure about that she didn’t have anything in common at all with the rest of the family. “I wan’t you to know, that I’m letting you go, only because I know I never would be able to keep you home, not on my own at least. I love you and I always will” his voice broke, and he had to gather his courage for a bit before he could speak again, not wanting to cry in front of his daughter. “But no matter for how long you have been away, you can always come home again” She looked up at him again, as he had finished speaking, and her cold expression seemed to soften. “Thanks dad.” she said quietly before moving her arms up to hug him back. “It’s okay if you want to cry. We have all seen you crying over us, even though you have done a good job trying to hide it” she stepped away and turned her back towards him, and her words made the tears flow down his cheeks, though he didn’t dare to make a sound. He couldn’t. She stopped at the door and looked shortly back at her father. A soft smile went across her face. “Goodbye Dad. I never hated you or mom.” she murmured before walking out the door.
